35 miles north of Los Angeles, and
Hollywood’s famed Sunset Strip, lies Camarillo, a quiet and verdant stretch
of farmland and domestic tranquility that is somewhat divided by Pacific
Coast Hwy 101 and is actually part of Ventura County. More than
occasionally, the tranquility and peacefulness of Camarillo is ruptured by
audio flashes and spasms of sound in the night that might derail a passing
train or disable an ordinary human with what surely must sound like some
threatening, primordial species on the prowl, prepared to fight to the
death. From where does this sound emanate? Once best known for the State
Mental Hospital, since 1996 Camarillo has been home base for the speed and
thrash metal band CESSATION OF LIFE.
After 16 years of thrashing, 4 full length albums, 5 EP’s, 1 live album, 7
US tours, countless international CD compilation credits and hundreds of
shows later, CESSATION OF LIFE is proud of its history and fearlessly forges
on toward world domination.
The band has played all of the landmark venues in Los Angeles like The
Whisky, the The Roxy, The Key Club and many more. CESSATION OF LIFE has
opened for some of the biggest names in the Heavy Metal genre…groups like
Testament, The Haunted, Hirax, Six Feet Under, Deicide, Hammer Fall,
Impellitteri, Drain STH, Death, Morbid Angel, Galactic Cowboys, Grip Inc. -
the list goes on and on. Time and again, CESSATION OF LIFE has delivered the
